Brett Merritt

General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

Brett Merritt is the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel of Warwick Investment Group. In his role, Brett provides legal oversight, guidance and support to the firm. He is involved in every part of the investment process, including drafting and negotiating fund and credit documents, large and small purchase and sale agreements and ancillary transactional agreements. Brett also oversees all outside counsel engaged by the firm.

In his role as Chief Compliance Officer, he oversees and manages Warwick’s compliance with all regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures and leads the Compliance Committee of the firm.

Prior to joining Warwick, Brett was an attorney at the largest law firm in Oklahoma, McAfee & Taft, for nearly a decade where he specialized in regional, national, and international business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, real estate, venture capital, corporate governance and lending. In this role, Brett provided counsel on transactions ranging from under $1 million to more than $1 billion.

Brett holds a JD, with highest honors, from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in economics with a pre-law focus and a minor in international business from Oklahoma State University.

Brett is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the National Society of Compliance Professionals. He also serves on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Governance Committee of Wings Special Needs Community.
